More success for AgilityEco at the National Energy Efficiency Awards
Energy experts AgilityEco and its partners enjoyed success across multiple categories at this year’s National Energy Efficiency Awards, held last week in Birmingham.
The National Energy Efficiency Awards highlights the fantastic work achieved by businesses involved in the Energy Saving and Efficiency sector within the UK.
AgilityEco came second for Social Responsibility Company of the Year and received a special commendation for Funding Provider of the Year. Over the last year, AgilityEco has provided high-quality vulnerable customer support to over 44,000 households across the country, funded the delivery of energy efficiency measures that will save more than £165m in lifetime energy bills, and built local partnerships that have councils, charities and social enterprises at the centre.
More success followed as the Warmer Homes programme received third place in the Insulation & Fabric Project of the Year and Solar PV Project of the Year and received a special commendation for Renewable Heat Project of the Year. Warmer Homes is delivered on behalf of a consortium of 22 local authorities, led by Portsmouth City Council, which also secured second place in the Council of the Year category to the programme provides practical insulation, solar and low carbon heating measures, along with to help residents to cut their energy bills and keep their homes warm and healthy. Warmer Homes was the most active consortium in the country in delivering council-led retrofit measures, with over 2,200 households helped in 2021/22. This will result in each household benefitting from an average annual bill saving of £295 per year.
The nationwide Connected for Warmth programme, which is managed by AgilityEco and Affordable Warmth Solutions and funded by the Warm Homes Fund, came second in Boiler & Heating Project of the Year following its win in the same category last year. It also received a special commendation for Renewable Heat Project of the Year, reflecting the move from installing central heating systems powered by gas to ones powered by efficient air source heat pumps. Throughout the year Connected for Warmth installed almost 900 systems into fuel poor homes that were struggling with inefficient storage heaters and solid fuel fires.
