Breakfast Briefing: Heat Metering Regulations - Compliance Pain or Long-Term Gain?

Briefing Date: Tuesday 15 September 2015

 Arrival & breakfast: 8.30am - 9:00am
          Presentation: 9:00am - 10:00am
                      Q&A: 10:00am - 11:00am

With DECC's announcement of a delay in the requirement for landlords to complete their assessment exercises, and the withdrawal of the Heat Metering Viability Tool for revision, many have been left confused about what exactly their next steps are.

AgilityEcoENER-G Switch2 and Pellings invite you to attend a one-off briefing addressing The Heat Network (Metering & Billing) Regulations 2014. These regulations have stated that all landlords with heat networks must undertake an assessment exercise to test the feasibility of customer metering by December 2015.

As well as providing an update on the changes to the legislation and the potential implications, we will be sharing our practical experience from helping clients complete their obligatory exercise and subsequent assessment of the heat metering opportunity.

Guest speakers:

Simon Trevenna from the National Measurement & Regulations Office will explain the changes to the legislation and the reasons behind the hiatus on the Viability Tool that is used to check if retrofitting final customer metering is feasible on their scheme. He will then host a short Q&A.

Gearoid Lane, AgilityEco, and Nigel Goddard, Pellings, will share case studies focusing on assisting clients to achieve compliance, and the practicalities of retrofitting heat metering and billing.

Ian Allan, ENER-G Switch2, will then summarise the ongoing opportunities and benefits of providing a heat metering and billing service to residents.

All three will provide practical case studies to demonstrate how, with good execution, heat metering and billing can minimise hassle, maximise cost recovery and deliver a better experience for residents.
