AgilityEco appoints Sharon Johnson as Chief Operating Officer

AgilityEco is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Johnson as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Sharon will join from the smart metering Data Communications Company, where she is currently Director, and will join the AgilityEco team on 1st December 2021. Jon Kimber and Gearoid Lane will share the Chief Executive role from that date.

Before joining the Data Communications Company, Sharon spent 23 years at Centrica plc (British Gas), where she served in a number of senior Director roles. Most recently Sharon held the executive responsibility for “net zero” activities and headed up their £300m smart meter programme and was responsible for the delivery of ECO and Warm Home Discount Obligations, as well as establishing British Gas’s installation service for Electric Vehicle charging points. Amongst the many transformational projects that Sharon led during her time at Centrica was a major data migration programme for retail energy and services.

Sharon’s expertise also spans regulatory affairs where she worked extensively with Ofgem and BEIS on legislative policy, regulatory licence requirements and compliance in one of her many roles at Centrica.

Gearóid Lane, AgilityEco Chief Executive, said:

“We are thrilled that Sharon is becoming a member of the AgilityEco family. She brings with her years of commercial experience transforming and growing businesses. I am confident that her creativity and drive will complement our existing expertise and that Sharon will help us to make an even greater social impact through the further development of our Community Programmes and Project Management services. Sharon has a stellar track record developing her teams and supporting colleagues to realise their full potential and we are simply delighted to have her on board.”

Sharon Johnson, incoming Chief Operating Officer, AgilityEco, said:

“I am very excited to be joining AgilityEco. There are few businesses with the kind of potential that AgilityEco has for future growth and where you can genuinely say that we are making things better for people, as well as working to address the climate change challenge. I know AgilityEco from my time at British Gas and the capabilities and relationships it has set it apart from others operating in the same space.”
