AgilityEco appoints new CEO

AgilityEco is pleased to announce that from 1 August 2022, Sharon Johnson will be appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Sharon has been with AgilityEco since December 2021 and is currently the Chief Operating Officer. She has previously held senior positions at the Data Communications Company and Centrica plc.

Both Gearóid Lane and Jon Kimber, currently joint-CEO, will be stepping down from their day-to-day duties, but will continue to support Sharon and the leadership team in an advisory capacity.

AgilityEco’s mission is to play a major role in eliminating fuel poverty, deliver better outcomes for low income and vulnerable families and to prepare Britain’s homes for net zero. It is an expert provider of low carbon, energy efficiency and innovative fuel poverty services, delivering practical support to low income and vulnerable households.

Gearóid Lane and Jon Kimber founded AgilityEco nearly a decade ago and due to the hard work of its great team it has grown at a compound rate of almost 50% per annum since its inception. The group now directly employs 100 people across two offices in London and Buckinghamshire and is continuing to grow.

In the year ending March 2021 AgilityEco supported almost 45,000 households in need and achieved £169 million worth of lifetime energy bill savings across the UK, through retrofit energy efficiency measures and its support programmes.

Commenting on Sharon’s appointment, Gearóid Lane said:

“I’d like to formally congratulate Sharon on her appointment to CEO. Since Sharon joined the business in December 2021, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a sharp operational focus. In particular, Sharon’s strong emphasis on execution means that we will be leaving our new business strategy, and our fuel poverty support programmes, in very capable hands. Her extensive experience within the energy efficiency and regulatory sector combined with these management skills have set her apart from other candidates and we look forward to seeing AgilityEco flourish under her guidance.”

Sharon will direct a leadership team including AgilityEco’s Chief Financial Officer, Anthony Dear and Chief Commercial Officer, Shueb Ali, both of whom will join Sharon as board Directors. This leadership team will continue to work closely with AgilityEco’s investor Bridges Evergreen and its Chair, Ian Peters.
